Both iOS and Android devices will optimize battery usage by transitioning apps in the background to a state of suspension (i.e., they will kill certain apps). When iOS and Android suspend the Atakama mobile app, an active session will no longer be available.
Some examples:
Sessions will work when:
Mobile device screen is turned on and Atakama is running in the foreground.
Mobile device screen is turned on and Atakama is running in the background.
Sessions will NOT work when:
“Low Power Mode” is turned on and:
- Mobile device screen is turned off and Atakama is swiped away (killed) from recent apps.
- Mobile device screen is turned on and Atakama is swiped away (killed) from recent apps.“Background App Refresh” is turned off for Atakama (iOS) and Atakama is running in the background or swipe-killed.
"Allow background data usage" is turned off (Android-Samsung Galaxy) and Atakama is running in the background or swipe-killed.
"Data Saver" is turned on (Android-Google Pixel)and Atakama is running in the background or swipe-killed.
Mobile device screen is turned off and Atakama is swiped away (killed) from recent apps.
Here are some tips to prevent the Atakama mobile app from being placed in a suspended state:
iOS users:
Keep your mobile device plugged in and the Atakama Mobile app in the foreground.
Turn off “Low Power Mode”.
Turn on “Background App Refresh” (Not available in Low Power Mode):
Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
Turn on Background App Refresh.
From the list of apps shown, use the toggle to turn Background App Refresh on for Atakama Mobile app.
Android users:
Turn off background data usage on Samsung Galaxy:
Open Settings, then tap Connections > Data usage.
From the Mobile section, tap Mobile data usage.
Select an app from below the usage graph.
Turn on Allow background data usage.
Turn off background app data on Google Pixel:
Tap Settings > Network & internet > Data Saver.
Tap the switch to turn it off.
