Using Apple's Migration Assistant with Atakama

Apple's Migration Assistant lets you copy all of your documents, apps, user accounts, and settings to a new Mac from another computer so that you don't have to copy your files manually.

Atakama is compatible with Migration Assistant only when copying files from one Mac computer to another Mac computer. When doing so, your Atakama encrypted files will be copied to your new Mac computer. You will need to reauthorize Atakama within the new computer's Security & Privacy settings once the Migration Assistant process is finished.

Atakama is not compatible with Migration Assistant when moving from a Windows computer to a Mac computer. If you are moving from a Windows computer to a Mac computer, you will first need to decrypt your files on the old Windows computer and then encrypt the files with Atakama on your new Mac computer.
