When a user who does not have Atakama installed attempts to open an encrypted .kama file, the .kama extension may inadvertently become associated with another application. In some cases these custom file type associations override the default Atakama association that is made when the software is eventually installed.
To resolve this issue, you will need to manually remove the following registry keys (to the extent they exist):
- HKCU\Software\Classes\.kama
- HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.kama (the whole .kama folder)
- HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Roaming\OpenWith\FileExts\.kama
If the above does not work, try importing the below registry file.
