Issues with image files on macOS

For security reasons, Atakama blocks certain system processes from accessing your files. These processes attempt to read your files in the background, which may result in unprompted requests to approve file access on your smartphone. Moreover, if these processes successfully read your files, they may save an unencrypted version of the file or its contents on your hard drive.

For example, if you have the preview sidebar enabled in Finder you may be unable to access your encrypted image files and may receive the error message below.

You can resolve these issues by disabling the preview sidebar, which will allow encrypted image files to open normally. To disable the preview sidebar, go to the Finder menu and select “View,” then “Hide Preview.” Alternately, you can hit "Command-Shift-P" from the Finder window.
