The error is usually caused by Atakama having failed to shut down correctly. The error does not affect your Atakama-encrypted files.
The error message contains a "retry" option. If the retry option fails, follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
Shutdown Atakama. A proper shutdown will remove the Atakama icon from the system tray (Windows) and menu bar (Mac).
Navigate to your file browser:
Windows: go to Local Disk (C:), Users, [your user name]
Mac: click Go in the top menu bar and select Home
Locate the file or folder named Atakama. Skip to Step 6 if you don't see the Atakama file or folder.
Select the Atakama file or folder and rename it (do not reuse an existing name). This may require allowing administrative privileges.
Start Atakama. If the error appears again, restart your computer and retry these steps.
