Why do I need a friend, family member or colleague to hold my spare key(s)?

Atakama relies on your smartphone to approve access and open protected files. But what if something happens to your smartphone? That's when you need a spare key.

A friend, family member or colleague is someone you know and trust. They are unable to access or view your protected files but they can open, approve access, and recover access to protected files that you request from your computer if you're ever unable to use your own smartphone.
